Who & What

Domestic Bliss Inc. - Laura & Hovering

deBOCCEry is an interactive camp based upon building community through PLAY. We provide a laid back environment for people to come together and interact. BOCCE is the perfect vehicle for this because the rules are simple and it won't kill you during the heat of the day. Or maybe it will.

You bought the ticket. Enjoy the ride.

We are expecting to have/provide:

  • 6 Burners
  • In Camp Vehicles: 2 RV's, 1 Car, 2 Trailers
  • Playa Vehicles: 1 Art Car, 4-6 Bicycles
  • Common Kitchen Area / Recycling Center
  • 2 RV Generators, 1 Auxilliary Generator
  • Sleeping Tents
  • Public Shade Structures
  • Public BOCCE Court
  • Flag Art Installation

deBOCCEry Camp LNT Plan

  • We will avoid bringing small trinkets, feather, glass, or anything that can fall off clothing or objects that will leave a trace.
  • Our camp has a recycling center that allows for paper burning in community platforms, metal crushing and return of ALL garbage.
  • We have a camp guardian (Hovering) who makes sure daily that all clean up is happening and nothing hits the ground. We have designated him to make sure the camp stays clean during set-up, during the event and after.
  • We plan to set up and break down in minute detail. We have over 20 years of experience on the playa between our camp leaders Laura and Hovering. It is a shorthand for us. All of our tools, supplies and gear are cleaned after every return from the playa and stored until August of the next year when we pull them out, check our lists and load it on the trucks to bring to the playa.
  • We pledge to leave no trace in our camp or on the playa. We will help our neighbors and the city of Black Rock as well. This ethos extends throughout our travel from Portland to the playa and back.
  • We clean as we go.
  • All rebar will be removed.
  • We don't dig holes.
  • We keep all things tied down... shade structures, tents, etc.
  • We will pack out everything we bring in... and pick up what others have left behind if we have room. We leave room in 1 vehicle for extra's we bring back from the playa.
  • Our clean-up toolbox includes:
    • Garbage buckets
    • Rebar removal tool
    • Magnets
    • Extra garbage bags
    • Burnables bags
    • Work gloves
    • Empty tins for smokers
    • Sledgehammers
    • Lots of rope
    • Lube

WE PROMISE TO LEAVE NO TRACE and HELP OTHERS DO THE SAME.
